WHAT IS COLON THERAPY or COLONICA colonic is a hygienic cleansing of the large intestine. The colon, large intestine or large bowel are all names describing the eliminating organ of the body leading from the small intestine to the exterior anus.The colon is approximately 5 to 8 feet long in the average adult and is as around as your wrist.

HOW IS COLON THERAPY ADMINISTEREDWater is introduced into the colon through a disposable rectal speculum that is inserted into the rectum about 1 to 1 1/2 inches, then there is a release of water and waste material. In this way, the colon is gently washed in progressive intervals ( like a little
water in-waste and water out - repeated again and again). You can visualize this by imagining a wave hitting a beach and then receding time and time again carrying away silt and residue each time.
Several factors reduce the efficiency of the colon. Poor bowel tone commonly occurs due to the following: ingesting highly processed over cooked denatured foods, and the use of alcohol, tranquilizers, pain medication.
